About TestLessons
TestLessons is a free test-prep site for the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT and MCAT. We write study plans, practice and AI study prompts, and we point you to the official material first, because that is what sets your score.
Everything on the site is free to use, and you don't need to sign up for any of it.
What you'll find here
Six exams, each with its own hub: SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT and MCAT. Each hub has format facts, a printable workbook, a resources list and a set of copy-ready AI prompts (24 across the site).
And 6 free tools:
- Study plan: enter your test date and weekly hours, and get a plan you can tick off. It is on each exam's workbook page and stays in your browser.
- Approach check: a short quiz on how you study, with fixes. There is one for each exam.
- SAT or ACT?: a quick comparison to help you choose.
- GRE Issue essay studio: a timer, a self-check rubric and model essays.
- MCAT CARS score interpreter: the official percentile for a CARS score and what to practise next.
- MCAT CARS practice passages: two original timed sets with explanations for every answer choice.
What we believe
- Test prep should be free to start. A plan and honest practice shouldn't sit behind a paywall or an email form.
- Honesty beats hype. We say what a tool can and can't do, and we don't promise score jumps.
- Official material sets your score. The College Board, ACT, ETS, GMAC, LSAC and AAMC practice tests are the real measure. Our plans, prompts and passages are for the time in between.
How the content is made
We use AI tools to help write and edit the site, and we check the result before it goes up: exam facts against the official test makers, and practice answers by solving them again. The AI prompts are meant to be pasted into whichever AI tool you like.
The details, including what we can't promise, are on our editorial standards page.
What we don't do
- We don't invent scores or predict yours. Our tools explain official scores; they don't replace them.
- We don't put tools behind a paywall or a sign-up.
- We don't use pop-ups, sign-up walls or fake urgency (no "offer ends tonight").
- We don't take paid placements. No one pays to be recommended.
- We don't claim to be the test makers or to work with them.
